Only 430 of this model were built by the British aircraft manufacturer, Bristol between 1946 - 50.
Only 80 were shipped to the South Pacific. This car is one of them.
Comprehensive ground up restoration began in November 2004.
The engine and gearbox fully rebuilt.
Brakes, suspension, drive line, differential, rear axle, steering all professionally restored.
Wheels powder coated.
All instruments recalibrated.
Wings, fenders, doors, boot, bonnet, glass, rubber removed.
Back to bare metal professional respray in two pack paint.
Colour- Jaguar- 'golden sand'.
English ash and spruce frame, was in excellent shape for a 59 year old car and only minor work had to be redone.
New rubbers, windscreen, opening rear screen fitted.
Bright-work re-chromed where necessary.
Steering wheel re-chromed and 'pearl-crafted'.
The interior is re-trimmed in an art- deco style with new materials. Chocolate brown carpet.
Seats, rear quarter panels, armrests and door panels, all in the finest quality Connelly leather.
Polar white with chocolate piping.
The trimmers brief was to sympathetically restore the interior to be as close to original as possible.
The dash timber has been treated with Scandinavian Oil, but not re- veneered.
Rebuild was completed in 2007 and has provided great enjoyment ever since.
It has some modernisation (minor and reversible) to make it easier in traffic.
